PIMCO Foundation

PIMCO Foundation

Our mission is to empower people globally to reach their full potential.

We believe in operating globally but also in supporting local organisations in the communities in which we live and work. Since establishing the PIMCO Foundation in 2000, we have worked to support hundreds of local nonprofits. Our Foundations in the U.S., U.K. and Germany support local communities via local grant programmes.

Global Focus areas include:

  • Hunger - We have long supported efforts to alleviate hunger in the communities where we live and work. Through this focus area, we have a strategic partnership with Global FoodBanking Network (GFN). We do not accept applications for our hunger-related grant-making.
  • Gender equality - We match the resources, time and talents of our people with leading organisations around the world tackling the essential challenges facing girls and women today. We do not accept applications for our gender equality-related grant-making.

About PIMCO’s U.K. Local Grants Programme

In addition to our focus on hunger and gender equality, our U.K. Local Grants Programme focuses on Homelessness. Our strategy for this programme, focuses on a three pronged intervention model, working with three organisations in the areas of prevention, emergency response and long term housing and accommodation supports.

We are currently not accepting applications.

Homelessness

Rough sleeping has reached record levels in England. Recent studies have shown that 2,500 people were living on the streets of England in 2021 on a single night, and 640 of these were in London. Furthermore, Westminster is the local authority with the highest number of rough sleepers. Whilst figures saw a decline during COVID-19, due to the national “everyone in” campaign, these figures are beginning to rise again. These numbers do not include those living in temporary accommodation such as hostels, shelters or temporary supported accommodation, or “hidden homeless” households, those who are informally seeking assistance from local authorities or friends and family, who may be currently or imminently without accommodation. As a firm that believes in contributing to the emergency needs in communities where our employees work and live, we seek to support organisations that are addressing the needs of the Homeless in London, particularly in Westminster were we are located.
